If you’re interested in losing weight, keeping it off, getting more toned, stepping up your fitness, eating better, and everything that makes us look amazing then you’ve come to the right place. Welcome to the Total Transformation Series. Before I get into the specifics of the program, allow me to provide some background.
Like many other people, I didn’t really think much about my health or fitness until sometime in my early twenties. My weight was okay (but nothing to brag about), and I didn’t have any major health problems so I figured nothing needed to change.
Then, out of boredom, I went to a weight management course through my company at the time. I learned about healthy eating practices and realized that what I was doing completely sucked. I made little changes to my diet, and suddenly started seeing my body change.
Soon after, I joined a gym and felt even more awesome. The next thing you know, I went from a size 10, 165 lbs to a size 6, 150 lbs and I’ve been there since! (I’m 5-7 if you’re doing the self-comparison thing that we tend to do). I fall off at times, but in general, I’ve managed to adopt a set of healthy eating and workout practices that I’ve been able to sustain, allowing me to keep the weight off and stay relatively lean.
I created the Total Transformation Series based on my own experience as well as my expertise as a personal trainer.Trust me, if you do each of the steps, you WILL see results.It’s a program with 6 basic steps that anyone can do.. I’ll cover the detail of the 6 steps in upcoming posts, but if you’re curious, here they are:
- Get into your mind
- Track what you’re doing
- Eat until you’re satisfied
- Attack the quick wins
- Make it a habit
Here are some things to keep in mind before we jump into the Total Transformation Series that will help you to be successful and get amazing results.
1. Don’t do everything at once.
Sure, you can read through all of the steps and tackle it all at once. However, this program is intended to be followed over time so that everything sinks in. The awesome thing about if you’re starting now (as in January 2014 when I’m first writing this thing) is that I’m going to post weekly so you can just follow right along.
2. This program defines the “what” and there are many options for the “how”.
So that confusing sentence just means that the Total Body Transformation provides guidance on what you should do to eat right, but more information may be needed to accomplish the specifics. For example, we talk about strength training and cardio, and provide some basic information to get started. You will however, need more information to know exactly what to do. And that’s what the rest of this site is for!
3. There are no fancy gimmicks or tricks to it
This is actually a good thing. We all tend to like fitness programs that promise crazy results. Sometimes those are even good for us because they force us to radically change our behavior. Studies have shown, however, that 65% of people return back to their pre-diet weight while on a weight loss program. And on top of that, nearly half drop out of weight lost programs. So if you do start a diet today, there’s only a 15% chance that you will stick with it and keep the weight off. Probably not worth the effort of suffering through the program.
